The Illawarra Rabbit Society Inc (IRS) was incorporated on the 12th of January 2009 INC9890645 .The club was the idea of a lot of local breeders as well as all the pet friendly people wanting to get together with the same interests ( eg rabbits).
Club members receive regular newsletters packed with tips regarding the care of rabbits. We keep all members up to date with information regarding diseases which will affect your rabbit.The news letter will come out quarterly with information that is good for your rabbits as well as you , (eg) there will be a Horticultal section on what to plant in your garden as well as herbs and vegies. There will be stories written by are junior members about there rabbits.Also articles on building of hutches as well as basic rabbit facts.
We also will help , to rehome unwanted rabbits . We are a non-profit organization, providing free advice to the public seeking rabbit information .We are hopefully going to have a open day in March to introduce the Illawarra to rabbits followed by two shows during the year.
We look forward to welcoming any one wanting to join are Society. Memberships are effective from the Month you join for twelve months. We will be affiliating with the British Rabbit Council later in the year after we are up and running with enough members to allow us to do that.
